Scripture references: Joshua 14:9-14; Numbers 14:24; Proverbs 13:12; Dueteronomy 1:36
The following are notes from a sermon about the Character of Caleb
- Conviction (according to the word of God; follows God wholeheartedely)
- Confidence (God will give you the victory)
- Consistent ( faithful, reliable, available, teachable)
- Certain hinderances to consistency: Frustration; Fears; Failures; Friends; Enemies
- “If there were no challenges there would be no champions. Challenges produce champions and battles produce conquerors.”
4. Committed (knowing that your labor for the Lord is not in vain)
5. Communing (Abiding in Christ: thankful; prayful; rejoiceful) John 15:5
Caleb had all of these characteristics because of the promise of God and when you have that promise you can:
- Stand on it.
- Count on it.
- Depend on it.
- When God promises you a mountain, He’s not going to give you an ant hill.
The following were notes from a sermon by Bishop Taylor of Center for Hope Church, Bloomington IL
