Was LeBron's decision based on fear.

Was LeBron’s decision to join the Miami Heat based on his fear of Dwayne Wade?  Enormous ego aside, as a competitor wouldn’t you want to beat a so-called “super team” rather than join them?  Would Michael Jordan have joined the Detroit Pistons?  The team that beat him three straight times in the NBA playoffs.  The answer is a definitive heck no!  Michael worked harder, challenged his teammates to get better, and through will power, talent, fortitude finally broke through the Piston wall.  Now let’s take a look at LeBron, who by the way has not won anything in the NBA.  The gauntlet was laid down when Chris Bosh decided to join Dwayne Wade in Miami.  Where is LeBron’s competitive juices?  Where is that competitor that sees an NBA full of good teams: Orlando, Miami, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago in the Eastern Conference.  LeBron always talks about knowing the history of the game; well my question to him is this,”If you want to be considered the best who ever played, don’t you have to beat the best?”  Imagine if James and the Cavs won the East, and then beat the Lakers in the finals.  There would be no doubt that LeBron would rank as one of the best players to ever put on an NBA uniform.  But what does James do, he tries to play XBox and create a super team because he is tired of putting in the work to be the best.  Ultimately his decision is based on wilting under the pressure of possibly losing to his draft class mate, Dwayne Wade.  Wade already has a NBA championship, Olympic gold medal, and was poised to make a serious run at a second NBA title.  LeBron’s ego could not bear that burden, so he goes to the XBox game menu, enters the cheat code and creates a super team.

No Wade; No Bosh; No LeBron; No Problem?????

All signs point to the Chicago Bulls being shut out of the premier free agents in this year’s stellar class.  Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh are signing with Miami, and the longer that LeBron James delays his decision the more likely he is to re-sign with the Cavs.   As a Bulls fan I remember the free agent fiasco when trying to lure Tracy MacGrady.  Unlike then, lets hope the Front Office Management Team does not repeat the same mistakes by overpaying the likes of Carlos Boozer, Ray Allen, David Lee, Mike Miller.  How about the unchecked ego of LeBron James who is currently in negotiations with ESPN to create an hour-long special to be aired on the network to announce his decision.

free agent frenzy

This year’s free agency has gotten out of control!  There are basically 2 max players; LeBron James and Dwayne Wade.  LeBron more than Wade can change a franchise’s future.  If LeBron is in it to win a championship he would sign with the LA Clippers who have the most talent and are missing the piece to put them over the hump.  I would like to see Wade and David Lee sign in Chicago.  Any attempt by Chicago to get Chris Bosh in a sign and trade with Toronto would cost Chicago any semblance of a bench.  Toronto would want Joakim Noah and or Taj Gibson which would be too steep of a price for Chicago to pay.  Both Wade and LeBron are set to make their announcements later this week.

• “If there were no challenges there would be no champions.  Challenges produce champions and battles produce conquerors.”

4.  Committed (knowing that your labor for the Lord is not in vain)

5.  Communing (Abiding in Christ: thankful; prayful; rejoiceful) John 15:5

Caleb had all of these characteristics because of the promise of God and when you have that promise you can:

1. Stand on it.
2. Count on it.
3. Depend on it.
4. When God promises you a mountain, He’s not going to give you an ant hill.
